The Veterans Affairs business unit helps transform the VA into a modern digital services organization where Veteran outcomes are at the center of every effort. We partner with the VA to design and deliver seamless user experiences for Veterans, their families and caregivers, and VA employees. By applying better practices in service design, product management, and technology, we enable the VA to increase the use, quality, and reliability of services and decrease the time Veterans spend waiting for outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities:
Business Analyst II serves as an individual contributor within a team; with the support and guidance of leadership, you will be responsible for supporting the goal of meeting scope, schedule and delivery requirements. You will begin to develop an awareness and understanding of the business analysis/requirements management function within the program, as well as interact with stakeholders. Primary expectations for a Business Analyst II include:
Identifies and communicates with key stakeholders to meet delivery requirements
Gathers, reviews and analyzes business and industry data, including key performance indicator reports and other key metrics using industry standard tools
Serves as a liaison between various groups, helping to create operational efficiencies
Assesses options for process improvement, including business process modeling
Understands requirements and dependencies and develops documentation associated with project/program requirements, scope, process and operations
Collaborates with Project and Program Managers and cross-functional teams
Ability to effectively communicate and influence key stakeholders to support proposed strategies, process improvements and operations
Drives requirements analysis and communicates impacts to delivery based upon the product roadmap
Comprehensive understanding of business analyst industry, tools, and processes
Continued development of analytical skills
Participates in team working sessions, following and improving processes and workflows
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience
Relevant years of experience may be substituted for education
Experienced with tools or industry standards and technology systems utilized to gather and manage requirements

In support of various state and city equal pay transparency laws, Ad Hoc job descriptions feature the starting range we reasonably expect to pay to candidates who would join our team with little to no need for training on the responsibilities we've outlined above. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and responsibility.
